Born on 2 May 2015, Charlotte Elizabeth Diana is the only daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Styled Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge, she is fourth in the line of succession behind her grandfather, the Prince of Wales, father and elder brother, Prince George. Changes to succession law in 2013 also mean that she cannot be displaced in the line of succession by any younger brothers.
Like her brother, father and uncle, Prince Harry, Charlotte was born in the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington. Her christening, at St Mary Magdalene Church on The Queen’s Sandringham Estate on 5 July 2015, was the first time she was seen publicly since leaving the hospital with her parents.
Charlotte has been pictured in a number of official photographs since her birth, including ones to celebrate her first birthday and The Queen’s 90th birthday. She made her first official public appearance on the balcony of Buckingham Palace during the Trooping the Colour ceremony on 11 June 2016. She has acted as bridesmaid at the weddings of her uncle Prince Harry and aunt Pippa Middleton, as well as for her second cousin Princess Eugenie.
