Our two-hour guided tea experience is designed for experts, enthusiasts and novices alike.
Enjoy a traditional tea at a London venue with a Debrett’s expert on-hand to guide you through the history and formalities of this time-honoured ritual, as well as the correct way of serving tea, finger sandwiches and accompaniments.
The ritual of tea taken with cakes and sandwiches is widely believed to have been initiated by the Duchess of Bedford in the 1840s to ward off ‘that sinking feeling’ in the afternoon. It has since become a uniquely British institution, inspiring heated debate over the correct order of tea and milk, or cream and jam.
Rupert Wesson is the academy director at Debrett’s. Specialising in communications and the spoken word, his client portfolio includes a number of senior leaders in renowned businesses across the globe.
The price includes a formal tea at a London restaurant or hotel. Places are limited to 10 and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Please call us on 0203 705 2210 or email DanScothern@debretts.co.uk to reserve your place.
