Traditionally, the best man organises the stag party, with the help of close friends and the ushers. In years gone by, the stag enjoyed an evening with his friends; nowadays weekends away or even holidays are popular, budget depending.

The groom may give a few hints about his expectations, and supply a list of his friends and their contact details. Often, the planned activities are kept secret from the groom. This is not necessary, but can add a fun element to the party.

Make sure that only wedding guests are invited. Family members are not compulsory, but often fathers are invited to the stag - or part of it - if relations are good.

Inviting female friends is untraditional, but if the groom wants to include his best female friends, it is totally acceptable as long as the activities suit their company.
