Cake Traditions

A number of traditions are associated with the wedding cake...

Wedding Cake Traditions.jpgThe cake is said to symbolise fertility and the couple's shared life together.

Traditionally, the top tier of the fruitcake was kept back for the couple's first child's christening.

It was once believed that any single person who slept with a slice of wedding cake under their pillow would dream that night of their future spouse.

It used to be customary to send a slice of fruitcake to those unable to attend the wedding.
