For something very relaxed, hot dog or fish and chip vans are a fun idea. Hog roasts or a barbecue table, where guests can help themselves to food buffet-style, are economic and a good talking point.

There are plenty of more luxury options on offer, from sushi and oyster bars to Chinese stir fry stations. For these ideas to work successfully, the guests must be well informed on when and where to have their food.

The toastmaster/master of ceremonies should announce what the form is, and the ushers should help guests if required.
