Non-professional Videography

Many couples decide to cut the cost of hiring a professional videographer by asking a reliable and talented friend to video the day instead.

  • The bride and groom must realise that the final result will be very different from a professional's film.
  • The individual must be familiar with the equipment and have practised with it before the big day.
  • It is best to shoot too much than too little; the footage can always be cut afterwards.
  • A tripod is essential for the wedding ceremony (if allowed) and the speeches.
  • A spare battery and the camera instruction book are useful in case of emergency.
  • The bride and groom should make sure that the individual is properly briefed about what they want filmed.
