The Wedding Day

Friday 29 April was grey and overcast, but the threatened rain never materialised. People gathered from first light to catch a glimpse of the cavalcade of cars taking guests to the Abbey. The day was punctuated with many highlights: the arrival of the guests in the Abbey and the build-up of excitement; the moment of high drama when the wedding dress was first revealed to the world; the beautiful wedding service; the carriage procession; and finally, the balcony kiss (two of them).
