On Tour: Debrett's New Season
From Glyndebourne to Glastonbury - A social calendar for the 21st century
25 July, 2013 - 28 July, 2013
Mill Hill Field, Abbots Ripton, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire

This independent music festival is held over a long weekend in
July or August within the grounds of a Georgian farmhouse near
Huntingdon, with landscaped gardens and a lake and river. It is on
a much smaller scale than most of the summer's offerings.
The emphasis at the Secret Garden Party is on the quirky and the
eclectic, in terms of both musical performances (reggae, rock,
funk, hip hop, dub, dance and more, with DJs playing from a
treehouse stage), the storytelling, theatre, comedy and art
installations, and the activities on offer, which include snail
racing, rubber duck shooting and Space Hopper races.
Throughout the festival participation is welcomed - from creating
extraordinary costumes to building art installations. Visitors are
encouraged to build action camps - Action Camps can be workshops
for teaching, tents and stages for talks and demonstrations, craft
spaces, beautifully decorated chill out spaces, poetry corners or
karaoke dens. Or you might like to create an art boat - a
rowing boat that has been transformed into a work of art. The
festival already has seven.
The Sanctuary offers massage, healing, dance classes, yoga, saunas
and hot tubs, and camping is available in tents, campers or
caravans; alternatively, pre-book 'boutique' tipis or safari
tents.
Headline acts for 2013 are to be announced in due course.
