This tournament has traditionally been played at the Guards Polo Club, Windsor Great Park, for over 45 years. Her Majesty the Queen donated the cup to the club in 1960, and still presents it to the winning team.

Founded in 1955, the president of the Club is the Duke of Edinburgh. The club is set in the beautiful natural surroundings of Windsor Great Park. It is located at Smith's Lawn, thought to have been named after a gamekeeper at the time of the Restoration.

The Cartier Queen's Cup is the highest handicap league competition in the UK.

Cartier will be continuing to sponsor the prestiguous Queen's Cup in 2013.
