Newbury Racecourse's three-day Sportingbet Winter Festival draws thousands of race fans to Berkshire in late November for the flagship National Hunt race and the prestigious handicap Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup for five-year-olds and above, featuring 21 fences. Guests can choose from the Racegoers Restaurant and the elegant Hennessy Restaurant with its panoramic views.

On Thursday the festival opens with the GPG Novices' Chase, viewed by punters as an excellent preview of future stars. On Thursday a celebrity chef will be cooking at the Hennessy Restaurant. Alternatively, there is live music in the Berkshire Stand's Long Room Bar.

Friday, Gentleman's Day, features the Grade II Berkshire Novices' Chase, run over two and a half miles. There is also a Best Dressed Gentleman competition.

On Saturday, Gold Cup day, there is a Parade of Champions prior to the race itself. After the excitement of the race, racegoers can listen to live music in the Grandstand marquee.
