Olympia, London

A red-letter event in every beer lover's diary, this is the country's biggest beer festival, held over five days at London's Olympia in August. It celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2007.
It showcases over 1,000 British and foreign beers, as well as traditional British cider and perry. Over 65,000 visitors are expected.
A number of awards are given each August for various classes of beer including: supreme champions, bitter, premium bitter, golden ale, mild, speciality beer and new brewery. The Champion Beer of Britain in 2011 was Mighty Oak brewery's Oscar Wilde, brewed in Maldon.
