A highlight of the Irish summer, this festival is a celebration of Ireland's enduring relationship with the horse - from show horses to show jumpers.

From August 7-11, the Discover Ireland Dublin Horse Show takes over the entire RDS complex in the heart of Dublin. This year is the 139th anniversary of the Discover Ireland Dublin Horse Show, Ireland's top equestrian event.

Located in the RDS complex in the heart of Dublin, the show offers a veritable banquet of equine events. You can choose to sit in the Main Arena and watch the best international showjumpers, or support the teams in the Hunt Chase. Visit the Showing Rings and soak up the horsy atmosphere. Highlights include the Land Rover Puissance featuring the famous 'Wall,' the Longines International Grand Prix and over 100 national and show jumping classes.

A major event is the Aga Khan Challenge Trophy, which sees the four best rider/horse combinations from eight countries around the world competing across eight international venues.

The exhibition halls play host to 300 trade stands, and there is live music, kids' and nature zones, arts and crafts exhibitions and a range of restaurants and bars. The Blossom Hill Ladies' Day (on Thursday August 8), with a prize of 10,000 Euros, is a chance to dress up and sport a hat.
