On Tour: Debrett's New Season
From Glyndebourne to Glastonbury - A social calendar for the 21st century
25 November, 2013 - 23 December, 2013
Cologne, Germany

The city of Cologne offers four traditional Christmas markets around the city, attracting over 2 million visitors each year.
The Cathedral Christmas Market dominates the square in front of the twin spires of Cologne's famous Gothic cathedral, and is clustered around a huge Christmas tree.
In the cathedral square you will find over 150 wooden pavilions, selling food, glühwein and Christmas crafts. Professional bands and street performers entertain the crowds.
Further south, the smaller market on the Alter Markt, in front of the town hall, offers some truly festive treats for children, from numerous toy stands to a merry-go-round. Many stalls stock hand-made wooden toys, boiled sweets and candyfloss. The quaint stalls are half-timbered, and the narrow-gabled houses form a picturesque background.
