Brussels Christmas market is a gourmet's delight, with over 200 stalls around the Bourse (stock exchange), Marché aux Poissons (fish market) and Place Sainte-Catherine offer indulgences from all over Europe.

Small wooden chalets represent different European countries, offering the usual array of arts and crafts and Christmas decorations. They are interspersed with a wide array of food stalls, offering everything from mulled wine to fine Belgian chocolates, moules marinières, preserved fruits and gingerbread.

The beautiful Baroque facades of the guild houses and Town Hall in the Grand Place are illuminated and dressed in festive garlands. A giant Christmas tree dominates the Grand Place.

There is also a splendid ice rink at the Marché aux Poissons.  Professional skaters put on ice dancing display, but the rink is also open to the general public.
