On Tour: Debrett's New Season
From Glyndebourne to Glastonbury - A social calendar for the 21st century
19 October, 2013 - 19 October, 2013
Ascot Racecourse, Berkshire
This is a very new event, beginning only in 2011 where the racing world heads to Ascot for the richest day in British racing.
£3 million in prize money is on offer across the final races in each of the five QIPCO British Champions Series categories, presenting a fantastic opportunity for the season's equine stars and their owners, together with the top trainers and jockeys, to achieve sporting immortality on Ascot's historic turf.
The British Champions Day now acts the major championship climax to the Flat racing season that this country had previously lacked.
The inaugural day was a sensational occasion, with the mighty Frankel, the world's best racehorse, maintaining his unbeaten record with a breath-taking triumph in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes and brilliant victories also for Cirrus Des Aigles, Fame and Glory, Deacon Blues and Dancing Rain as the curtain came down in dramatic fashion on the inaugural QIPCO British Champions Series.
This particular day of racing is rated extremely highly by all those who attend so make sure you don't miss out!
