Founded in 1940 by legendary BSO music director Serge Koussevitsky, the Tanglewood Music Center (originally called the Berkshire Music Center), in Lenox, Massachussetts, was created to provide young musicians with a premier academy for advanced study using the vast resources of the orchestra and visiting guest artists. America's top music festival, which showcases the Boston Symphony Orchestra, celebrates the 76th anniversary of its summertime concerts which date back to 1937.
John Taylor will certainly be returning to his beloved Tanglewood as usual along with the Boston Symphany Orchestra (BSO) and many other guest artists including actor/singer Jason Alexander (i.e. Costanza in Seinfeld), Brass extravaganzas, chamber mnusic, jazz artists including Kenny Baron and classical artists such as Renée Fleming. Other experiences will include childrens workshops and Tanglewood's 76th Anniversary Gala with appearances from BSO, Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra (Strauss), the conductor Andris Nelsons,
Sophie Bevan, (Sophie) Angela Denoke and Isabel Leonard.
