WWII Lt 2 Bn Scots Guards 1943-47; artist specialising in stained glass; work includes: Coventry Cathedral, Liverpool Met Cathedral, Derby Cathedral, Eton Chapel, Great Hall Christ Church Oxford, Washington DC Episcopalian Cathedral; other works included in private collections; co-fndr Burleighfield and Reyntiens Trust 1967-76; lectured worldwide incl: Canada, USA, Mexico, Paris, Ghent, Calcutta, Delhi, Bombay; Toronto (retrospective exhbn) Chartres Boston 1991; designed and painted the great west window of Southwell Minster 1996, designed windows of the South Transept and the Lady Chapel of Ampleforth Abbey 2002, 8 windows (each 35' x 7') Cochem church Germany 2008 (first maj church cmmn in Germany); art critic The Tablet 1973-97, art corr The Oldie 1994-, art critic Catholic Herald 1997-; written for jls incl: Arts International Review, Spectator, Arts News Review and Modern Painters; memb Panel of Architectural Advsrs to: Westminster Abbey until 1996, Westminster Cathedral, Brompton Oratory; fell Br Soc of Master Glass Painters
