Career violinist; as the youngest pupil of the Franz Liszt Music Acad toured numerous countries incl Hungary and Eastern Europe; first prize winner: The Paganini Competition, Marguerite Long/Jacques Thibauld Competition, Munich Sonata Competition; London orchestral and recital debuts 1961; currently performs with maj orchestras of the world under such conductors as: Sir Colin Davies, Antal Dorati, Kondrashin, Lorin Maazel, Rozhdestvensky, Rattle, Previn, Tennstedt, Haitink, Sir George Solti; American debut with the Chicago Symphony Orch leading to subsequent return visits playing with: Cleveland Philadelphia, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Boston Symphony Orch; festival appearances incl: Aspen, Ravinia, Hollywood Bowl, Saratoga; many prizewinning recordings incl works by Bartók (new recording nominated for Grammy 1995), Schubert, Mozart and Brahms; prof of music Royal Acad of Music 1986- (hon memb), artistic dir Mozart Festival in London Wigmore Hall 1991; hon memb Guildhall Sch; awarded The Middle Cross of the Hungarian Republic 1999
