Reps

Reps is short for repetitions. A repetition is one complete movement through an exercise.

Sets

A set is a group of repetitions. A typical set will be anywhere from 8-20 reps.

By alternating sets you will keep your routine varied and your muscles continually challenged.

The rest period between sets is the time you spend relaxing. A typical rest period is 30-90 seconds.

Superset

A superset is a set of exercises with no rest periods in between.
