Another excellent form of training, cycling is a low impact way of greatly improving fitness and cardiovascular ability. It can be done anytime, anywhere. Alongside swimming and running, this can make the basis of an excellent cross-training regime.
What it works: leg strength and cardiovascular ability are both huge beneficiaries from cycling.
Cons
You need to buy a good bike first, while there is also a risk from traffic on the road. Ensure that you are equipped with a safety helmet for use on roads, and try and find a quiet country route.
