How To: Make a Full English Breakfast
The 30-Minute Full English Breakfast
Ingredients (serves 2)
4 top-quality pork sausages
4 rashers of dry-cured back bacon
2 slices of English black pudding
2 field mushrooms
1 can of baked beans
1 tomato, halved
2 eggs
2 slices bread
Vegetable oil
Butter
Salt and pepper
Sauce of choice (tomato ketchup, brown sauce (preferably HP),
English mustard)
Method
00:00 Set the oven to 100ºc, turn the grill to high and put a
large frying pan over a low-to-medium heat. Put two plates in the
oven. Gather the ingredients.
00:05 Add the sausages and a dash of oil to the pan. Prick them if
you want to please your doctor more than your taste buds.
Quarter-turn every few minutes.
00:10 Put the baked beans in a saucepan over a low heat. Stir
occasionally.
00:15 Season the tomato and mushrooms with salt and pepper, and
top with a knob of butter. Place under the hot grill. Add the bacon
to the pan.
00:20 Divide the evenly-browned sausages between the plates in the
oven. Turn the bacon and add black pudding. Turn the pudding after
three minutes.
00:25 Divide the mushrooms, tomato, bacon and black pudding
equally between plates in the oven. Toast the bread. Wipe out the
pan with some kitchen roll, add a fresh splash of oil and crack in
the eggs.
00:30 Remove the plates from oven and add the baked beans and
fried eggs. Butter the toast, cut in half and add to the side of
the plate. Serve with preferred sauce.
