Playing it cool looks great in the movies, but in real life you need to let your date know that you're keen, without being too eager.

If you're really keen, text your date as soon as you get home and thank them for a lovely evening. Alternatively, text, email or call the day after.

Even if it was a disastrous date, a thank you is basic courtesy, regardless of how they scored out of ten. Leave it a day or so before arranging the specifics of your next meeting. It's a courtly charade guaranteed to keep the excitement going.
