Win Two Tickets for Ladies' Day at Newbury
Closing date: 30-06-2011

This month's exclusive competition gives you the chance to win two tickets for Ladies Day at Newbury in Berkshire on 13th August, including transport to and from the event.
Ladies Day at Newbury Racecourse is renowned as a sensational days racing with elite Flat races during the day, gastronomic hospitality from its restaurants serving seasonal and locally sourced cuisine, and a fantastic Ladies Day fashion celebration. This year's Ladies Day, 13th August, will see the second Party in the Paddock performance from ultimate ladies' man Tom Jones, who will perform live, with hits such as 'What's new Pussycat?' and 'It's not Unusual'.
Newbury has historic origins dating back to 1805, but the
present racecourse was opened for Flat racing in 1905. National
Hunt racing followed shortly after in 1906. During the Second World
War the racecourse was handed over to the American Army who used
the course as a depot and marshalling yard. Racing did not resume
until 1949.
Newbury has strong associations with the Royal family, and its
most famous race is the Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup, first run in
November 1960.
The racecourse has a choice of three restaurants: the Brasserie
(no reservations necessary); The Hennessy (serving modern British
cuisine); the Racegoers Restaurant (located on the 2nd Grandstand
the restaurant provides excellent views of the racetrack)
The racecourse has a dedicated railway station with direct
connections to London Paddington, and there are additional trains
on race days.
Gates open at 11am, the first race is at 12.55pm, the last race 4.50pm. There is a total of eight races. Tom Jones will appear after the racing.
