TRAINING ACADEMY DIRECTOR

Debrett’s is looking to hire an ambitious, career-minded self-starter with significant experience in the Learning & Development industry. Joining our passionate team in Central London, the ideal candidate will deliver and sell training to corporate and private clients and have the commercial nous to drive the strategy for the Academy overall.

The Debrett’s Academy has an unrivalled reputation for delivering training and consultancy to corporate and private clients in both business etiquette and essential soft skills, enabling them to be confident and successful in an increasingly competitive and global landscape.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver new programmes based on Academy strategy; improve and deliver existing programmes based on current and upcoming market needs as fits our brand
  • Manage and grow key customer relationships whilst developing new business opportunities
  • Coordinate, assess and recruit other L&D consultants as needed
  • Lead the Training sales team and work closely with other company areas to identify opportunities for collaboration, e.g. supporting colleagues’ clients with L&D solutions
  • Create detailed proposal documents and pitch to corporate clients
  • Be commercially aware of costs and charge out rates to ensure effective budgeting of client activities
  • Develop ways to support the client on- and off-site to manage proactively their L&D functions on a day-to-day basis by providing clear, concise and compliant advice on a range of L&D topics with any relevant supporting documentation.
  • Conduct Training Needs Analysis when necessary, asking the ‘right’ questions so that L&D proposals meet clients’ needs
  • Assess quantitative and qualitative effectiveness of Training programmes both for clients and from a commercial perspective
  • Consider ways to promote the Training Academy and bring the brand to life via marketing and PR

Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years’ training experience; teaching qualifications and a demonstration of commitment to CPD preferred.
  • Minimum three years’ sales experience in a business-to-business environment.
  • Demonstrable track record of sales success including Account Management and winning new business
  • Excellent team leadership and communication skills
  • Experienced in creating and delivering pitches to clients and training junior team members on the sales and pitching process
  • Exceptional relationship building skills internally and with clients
  • Highly organised, a strategic planner and creative thinker
  • A talented networker and brand ambassador with professional personal presentation
  • Acute commercial awareness and a strong understanding of the brand’s luxury positioning
  • Experience in eLearning a plus.

DEBRETT’S FOUNDATION ADMINISTRATOR

Debrett’s is currently looking for an individual to help drive forward the Debrett’s Foundation.

Established in 2014, the Foundation is a not-for-profit charity which supports and champions social mobility.

In conjunction with British secondary schools, the Foundation aims to provide students with the confidence and contacts to make the most of further education and first jobs.

Inspired by the leading figures in People of Today and the Debrett’s 500, and drawing from their impressive connections, the Foundation complements academic success by helping students with training in social skills to facilitate social mobility. The Foundation provides interview and networking skills, mentoring, work experience and educational opportunities.

We are looking for an ambitious self-starter who can drive the growth of the Foundation forward. This is much more than a conventional position and will require creativity to develop the Foundation. Joining our passionate team in Central London, the ideal candidate will be a skilled communicator and will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Foundation under the guidance of the trustees.

This role will prominently be focused on identifying candidates who would qualify for the Debrett’s Foundation criteria, facilitating their training, reaching out to students with new opportunities, raising monetary donations and managing the extensive network of the Debrett’s members offering support to the Foundation.

Skills and attributes:

  • Experience working for a charity, fundraising experience helpful
  • Experience teaching secondary school students aged 16 – 19 and familiarity with the UK school system
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required
  • Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, to have high levels of tact and diplomacy in dealing with a range of individuals across the company and outside of the company
  • To be self-starting
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • PC proficient with good MS Office
  • A commitment to the development and training of students
  • An enthusiastic and positive attitude and ability to work within a small team
  • A passion for social mobility
