Debrett’s is looking for an intern to assist with the 2015 edition of the Debrett’s 500.

Skills and attributes:

  • Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills are crucial

  • Previous editorial experience is advantageous
  • Must be able to carry out relevant research from legitimate sources

Sales Executive


  • Cold calling to arrange meetings with potential customers to prospect for new business
  • Maintaining and developing relationships with existing customers in person and via telephone calls and emails
  • Responding to incoming email and phone enquiries
  • Researching and analysing market and customer information to identify new customers and to tailor proposals
  • Representing the company at events
  • Creating detailed proposal documents – mostly in Powerpoint
  • Recording sales activity in the CRM database, Salesforce
  • Reviewing your own sales performance, aiming to meet or exceed targets
  • Gaining a clear understanding of customers' businesses and requirements
  • Making accurate, rapid cost calculations and providing customers with quotations
  • Attending networking events to build contacts
  • Attending team meetings and sharing best practice with colleagues


Any degree subject is acceptable

Relevant experience gained in any commercial area is beneficial, particularly sponsorship
